Awards

CORE currently offer the following awards in the area of Computer Science.

CORE Teaching Award
John Makepeace Bennett award for the Australasian Distinguished Doctoral Dissertation
The Chris Wallace award for outstanding Research Contribution
The John Hughes Distinguished Service Award
Best Student Papers at ACSW

Closing dates for all current awards is 15th August 2018.
Application/Nomination information for the 2019 AWARDS are available on individual pages.

All applications/nominations must be sent to Alison Handley at CORE (admin@core.edu.au) in the format requested on the individual award page and will be acknowledged by email.
Decisions of each committee will be available in early December with all applicants/nominees notified of outcomes.


The 2018 Award recipients have been announced:
We congratulate the following for their excellent achievements.

Lexing Xie from Australian National University (ANU) is the recipient of the 2018 Chris Wallace Research award for outstanding contributions to Computer Science research.

Antonette Mendoza from The University of Melbourne, is the 2018 recipient of the CORE teaching award for outstanding contributions to teaching in the field of Computer Science.

Junhao Gan from University of Queensland is the 2018 recipient of the John Makepeace Bennett award for the Australasian Distinguished Doctoral Dissertation, “High Performance Density-Based Clustering on Massive data.”.

The awards were presented at ACSW in Queensland in January 2018.
